AHPRA Registration

The Smart Pathway to Practising as a Physiotherapist in Australia

Australia is one of the world's most sought-after destinations for physiotherapists — but getting AHPRA registered the right way matters. Beverse guides internationally trained physiotherapists through the fastest, most reliable route to practise legally in Australia.

What Is AHPRA Registration?

Your Gateway to Practising Physiotherapy in Australia

The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is the national body responsible for registering health practitioners across Australia. All physiotherapists wishing to practise legally in Australia must be registered with AHPRA through the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.

While AHPRA supports multiple registration pathways, Beverse currently supports physiotherapists via the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (TTMR) Pathway — the fastest and most streamlined route for internationally trained physiotherapists who hold an active Annual Practising Certificate (APC) from the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand (PBNZ).

Deep Dive

What Is the TTMR Pathway?

The Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (TTMR) arrangement is a formal agreement between the Australian and New Zealand governments that allows practitioners who are registered in a regulated profession in New Zealand to apply for registration in the equivalent Australian profession — and vice versa.

For physiotherapists, this means that holding an active PBNZ registration with a valid APC allows you to apply to the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (via AHPRA) under this pathway, without undergoing the full standard international assessment process.

Beverse currently supports physiotherapists who hold an active PBNZ APC to apply for AHPRA registration through the TTMR Pathway. We guide you through every requirement, every document, and every stage of the process.

The Beverse Pathway

The Fastest Route from India (or the UK/Ireland) to Australia

Most internationally trained physiotherapists don’t realise there is a strategic, multi-step pathway that is significantly faster and more reliable than applying to AHPRA directly. Here’s the route Beverse recommends — and supports end to end.

Get Licensed in the UK or Ireland

Register with HCPC (UK) or CORU (Ireland)

The first step is obtaining unrestricted registration with either the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK or CORU in Ireland. This establishes your internationally recognised professional standing and opens the door to multiple fast-track pathways globally — including the PBNZ International Express Pathway.

Get Licensed in New Zealand

Apply for PBNZ Registration + APC via the International Express Pathway

With your active HCPC or CORU registration, you are eligible for the PBNZ International Express Pathway — a streamlined route that removes the requirement for a year-long comprehensive assessment. Once your PBNZ registration is granted, you must also apply for an Annual Practising Certificate (APC) before you can legally practise.

Your APC is not just a New Zealand licence — it is the recognised credential that enables the TTMR pathway to Australia.

Get Licensed in Australia

Apply for AHPRA via the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (TTMR) Pathway

With an active PBNZ APC, you are eligible to apply to AHPRA under the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition arrangement. This is a government-level mutual recognition framework between Australia and New Zealand, making it one of the most reliable and respected routes to AHPRA registration for internationally trained physiotherapists.

If you are HCPC or CORU registered, the 3-step pathway (HCPC/CORU → PBNZ → AHPRA) is the most strategic, reliable, and time-efficient route to practising in Australia.

How It Work

How It Works

A Step-by-Step Roadmap to Australia

Before applying for AHPRA via TTMR, you must hold an active PBNZ registration AND a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC). If you don’t yet have PBNZ registration

How It Works

Submit Your TTMR Application to AHPRA
